“Did You Know…?” A segment for our new series with LTV and we want you!

We have an exciting new project in the works and we need your help!

In a joint project with LTV, the Public Access Television Station for the Town of East Hampton, Project MOST is producing its first-ever television show with lessons, activities, entertainment… and YOU!

Did you know when the first airplane meal was served? Did you know what it was?

Here is Adrie sharing his fun fact for our DID YOU KNOW segment.

We are calling on kids of all ages to share your own fun fact with us for our new DID YOU KNOW segment for local television!

Is there something that fascinates you that you want to share with the world?  Have you made a recent discovery? Is there a word in another language that we have just got to learn? We want to hear from you!

As you prepare your fun fact and film set, here are some important details to keep in mind so that your videos can be successfully included. Because your video could be shared on television, it’s important that you use the following guidelines when creating and submitting your video.

  • Please include child’s full name. Age is optional.

  • Submission deadline: rolling acceptance

FILMING tips

Video Settings for Camera/mobile device:

  • 1080p HD at 30 fps

Composition:

  • Be sure to film horizontally (landscape) and not vertically as this works best for television. Check your composition/positioning and be mindful of messy backgrounds!

Stabilization:

  • We recommend using a tripod during filming or another device that will hold the camera steady.

  • Try not to use autofocus. If you do use autofocus, the camera will re-adjust whenever you move and/or if the light changes dramatically, etc.

  • Avoid using the zoom tool on your mobile device. Instead, move closer to your subject (in film lingo, this is called: “dolly in”) to focus on it.

Sound:

  • Your audio track is one track so any outside noise will be included with your fun fact and we won’t be able to take it out. Be mindful of ambient noise while you are filming: lawnmowers, wind, voices next door, etc.

Editing:

  • If you edit your submission, do not put text on the video, especially at the bottom of the screen. During the course of your segment airing on LTV, the added text will likely be covered up from time-to-time by the LTV scroll that runs intermittently along the bottom of the screen.

Videos can be submitted in the following formats:

  • .mp4

  • .MOV

Please use the following format to name your video: FIRST NAME_LAST NAME_DATE.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR VIDEO

  1. Download our Standard Release for Minors and sign. The release is downloadable as a PDF here.

  2. Email your DID YOU KNOW video submission and signed release to martha@projectmost.org.

By submitting content to Project MOST, parents/guardians herein grant permission for content, including your child and other featured persons, to be included in Project MOST communications and education materials. Video submissions without a signed release form will not be considered.

Thank you for this fun fact about elephants, Saoirse!
